bamboo x-treme® cladding
MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® cladding is a solid, High Density® exterior bamboo board, made from compressed bamboo strips. A unique heat treatment/compression process provides Bamboo X-treme® the highest durability class possible in the appropriate EU norms, increases the stability and density, and consequently the hardness. This makes it suitable for very demanding applications.
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on this planet and is an abundantly available building material. All solid MOSO® Bamboo Products have a negative carbon footprint over the complete life cycle and are therefore the sustainable alternative to tropical hardwood that is becoming scarce.
Fire safety without fire retardants
Contrary to other wood products, MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® cladding reaches fire safety Class B-s1-d0 (EN 13501-1) and Class A (ASTM E84). This makes it applicable for buildings with stringent fire safety requirements like apartments, commercial buildings and gas stations, while giving a beautiful natural appearance to the facade.
MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® cladding reaches this exceptional fire safety without the impregnation with expensive and eco-damaging fire retardants. This makes the product safe for the environment and for the people who work with it during the production and installation process. Sustainable, safe and beautiful!
Easy installation and maintenance-free
Bamboo X-treme® cladding is available in 2 shapes: a trapezium shape and a rebated profile. Bamboo X-treme® cladding in trapezium shape can be installed by screwing through the board. The boards with rebated profile can be installed easily and quickly with MOSO® clips. With the special clips, MOSO® can offer a complete sustainable solution for natural and appealing facades. MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® is also available as a complete
After installation, facades with Bamboo X-treme® cladding do not require any periodic maintenance at all, which results in huge time and cost savings. Bamboo X-treme® cladding withstands temperature changes with hardly any shrinking and swelling. Thanks to the extremely high stability, the boards will stay flat and in place unlike other natural materials. The original characteristics of the material rival the best hardwoods. Just like all hardwoods, bamboo turns grey over time, creating an attractive natural look.
The sustainable alternative to tropical hardwood
The use of tropical hardwood is related to deforestation. Whilst tropical hardwood can take up to 80 years before it is ready for harvesting, Moso bamboo stems, which are used for MOSO® Bamboo X-treme® cladding, are mature after only 4-5 years. After harvesting, the bamboo plant does not die and no deforestation takes place. On the contrary, the remaining stems of the mother plant grow even faster and thicker. Like this, the bamboo can be harvested annually and bamboo forestry is sustainable and fair trade for the farmers by default. MOSO® bamboo products are the sustainable alternative to tropical hardwood and other less ecologically friendly materials
